Essay

Time is passing so fast. In the blink of an eye, RUS 104 had come to the end. During this semester we almost spend all the time on studio work and I totally didn't study at all even now the exam is coming soon. This is the first time I do that so now I everyday study until midnight so that I can score well in the coming exam.

It is a course that I love but also hate of it. I love it because it is fun, I hate it because it had many drawing thing need to be draw. As a non-design student, drawing skill is not my strength so it was a very difficult task for me. Although that, I still manage to do it with my full efforts. In this progress, I had so much fun and learn many things and experiences many thing that I didn't experiences before I enter USM such as doing assignment until tomorrow morning 6am, using 30 minutes 1 people alone walk back to hostel in the midnight and so on. Those memories are really special and unforgettable.

At last, I would like to say thank to all my friends and lecturer in HBP which taught so much things and knowledge to me. I really learn a lot from RUS 104.

Glad to meet you all in my University life! :D

Project 8 : Performance Night

RUS 104 not only doing assignment, performance also is become our project and also is the last project. The last project is performance night and the theme of our performance night is "The Lost Kingdom". Every major need to perform their performance related to their respective kingdom. Besides that, they also need to wear the traditional costumes to perform.

Architecture- Srivijaya
Interior design- Singhasari
Urban and regional planning- Langkasuka
Quantity surveying- Majapahit
Building surveying- Pagaruyung
Building technology- Mataram
Construction management- Demak

For my major, we decided to perform a drama show with traditional dance of Pagaruyung.  I had been chosen to act as the king and Ling Ling as the queen of the kingdom. Our drama is said about the king had make the queen sad then he call his dancing crew to cheer the queen.

Project 7 : Exhibition

Project 7, Exhibition is the group work with own major. Every major need to create a booth to show our previous selected studio work in RUS 104 this subject. Our theme of this project is the "Floating Line". Therefore, we decided to use "Spider Web" as our concept to decorate our booth. We make a big spider web top of our booth and hang some floating object on it to make it look more attractive.

Project 6 : Design & Build A Small Scale Building

I think project 6 is the most hardest project that I did among all. Project 6 is to design and build an amphitheatre. This consider a big project so there will be 16 members in a group and the 16 members all are from different majors. At first, we need to site visit the topography. After that we need to do our progress report weekly and send it to our group master to evaluate. At last, we need to draw different views of the amphitheatre on 3 A1 size paper and make a final report to present in front of all lecturer of our design. We use the "cocoon" as our design concept which design by our group leader. We use this because it got many open spaces and it is good in ventilation.

Proposed design, Conceptual Sketch, Structural Joints,
Sections And Bubble diagram

Key plan, Location plan, Site plan, Site inventory
and bubble diagram

The elevations, perspective views,
floor plan

After passing up the final report and our amphitheatre design drawing we need to make our design into REAL! And that is the hardest part of this project because we need to buy, measure, calculate and cut the timber. It was very tired when we saw the timber. And we sleep almost 2~3 hours per day during this project. But the pay off was very worth when we see our final outcome. :D

Finally it done! Our amphitheatre, "The Enfold"
